The APOCALYPSO project is an adventure. All the members of the team are putting their energy and talent into this event.
With live singers and actors on stage, modern techniques will be used to create the world of APOCALYPSO: 3D, holography, shadows and lighting, state of the art scenography. These techniques allow us today to create a stage set by projection, avoiding the construction of solid materials, too expansive and uneasy to move in case of a theater tour.
The myth of a prison-planet where an exiled community is handed over to a Tyrant / Titan, is a classic, as is the rebellion of the people to overthrow the oppressor. It is, in fact, a universal theme which appears many times in the Bible, the Torah, Mythology, or is told in epic stories, classics or adventures.
The show lasts about two hours.
We are aiming at a wide-ranging audience including all lovers of action and adventure. This show needs to transcend generations.
APOCALYPSO tells the story of a bunch of aliens who survived to a great intergalactic disaster. They now form a population of exiles trying to recreate a society on a prison-planet called EXILUM. They live under the yoke of the tyran TOTALAMOK, an entity the various tribes of the communauty worship and fear.
This evil character seldom appears in front of his people. He communicates from his secret lair through a network of giant screens.
While trying to protect his reputation as a people's friend, Assisted by his three lieutenants ZAGOR, SHAÏKAN and YENARK, he rules the city as if it was a puppet theater.
We see ILELL appearing, masked agitator, able to merge into the scenery like a chameleon.
He blows the winds of rebellion until he becomes a people's hero, a myth, a symbol. This is a show on the progressive fight against dictatorship, whether open or hidden. We strip the velvet glove from the iron fist.
These are the slaves of the system, the workers. They toil without knowing why. During the day they exhaust their bodies working on machines and, at night, gather in hovels where they try to forget their miserable fates through alcohol, dance and sex.
Their outfits are quite chaotic, often patched or ragged, revealing the muscular bodies of the men and the forms of the women. T-shirts, leather vests, skins, etc. It's the temple of blood, sweat and tears. Life is hard.
Here we have the class of the «Officials», the «Civil servants». Completely devoted to the system, they obey the finger and the eye and blindly accomplish the missions confided to them by the supreme power. Based in the vast offices of high technological evolution, they manage the standardization, recording the evolutionary stages of every citizen of EXILUM, indicating their errors in behavior, violations of rules, etc.
Their outfits are uniforms, with huge glasses that give the impression that they have fly's eyes. The chief director of the SUBALTS is a central feminine character: YENARK.
These are the last citizens who think of themselves as «free» on EXILUM. They are the artists, the musicians, writers, thinkers, poets, painters, sculptures, tightrope walkers, clowns, etc. In fact, they are there to entertain TOTALAMOK and benefit from a much cooler life style than the other exiles.
They have certain privileges as the dictator favors them. But their lord and master can, at any moment, demote them to a lower area if a performance displeases him. It has happened that he'd sent to the VAPORATOR (disintegrator) an artist deemed subversive or who ceased to entertain him.
The zone where the artists perform is the central theatre of operations. Here the large square is located where their activities take place, with tightrope walkers, acrobats, fire eaters, musicians, dancers, etc.
The almighty tyrant of the City of EXILUM. Extremely sharp, his affable manners and soft voice conceal his native cruelty. He incarnates the criminal mind. He hides the truh about the foundation of EXILUM.
On the supreme level, surrounded by a jungle of video screens, TOTALAMOK lives alone in his den, which is prohibited to all. Only his lieutenants may sometimes penetrate the sanctuary. When TOTALAMOK appears to the citizens of EXILUM (only on screens), they are touched by his freaky appearance reminding them of the heroïc actions he supposedly took to save them.
One of the main lieutenants of TOTALAMOK. This once wise and good being, though implanted by his master to maintain order, always tries to avoid violence and settles disputes with affability. He delays, and uses reason and understanding.
The other lieutenant to TOTALAMOK. He's a cruel and crafty character, a despicable brute with no feelings. SHAÏKAN runs the MILITZ, a horde of zombified individuals that obey him like dogs. The slightest misdemeanour, in any zone of EXILUM, is ruthlessly suppressed, frequently bloodily.
The instigator of the revolt. Nicknamed by the people as «ILELL the Stealthy», he appears and disappears at will. His physical shape is in contrast with his feminine voice, hence his «androgyny». He conceals himself very easily in the crowd and often disappears by melting into the scenery of EXILUM like a chameleon. He is an elusive ghost haunting EXILUM and seems to appear by magic. He mingles with the JUNKJACKS and pushes them to reject their status as slaves. He mingles with the SUBALTS to short circuit their blind obedience. He mingles with the ZEPHURS, encouraging subversive actions against the establishment. And the MILITZ never catches him.
The Great «Director» of the SUBALTS. A powerful woman, (f)rigid and stuck up. A kind of colonel who controls the officers with a firm grip. She becomes warmer when she falls in love with the handsome WILDRIFF, charismatic singer idolised by all Exilians. She is a very determined character and ensures the moral order in the city. She has information on absolutely everyone.
The teenage idol. In every zone, his wild appearances create new fans who consider him to be a semi-god and always become hysterical. This annoys TOTALAMOK who doesn't like sharing the admiration of his people.
This (very) popular singer, is used to sequins and a crazy lifestyle. He knows the physical impact his sensuality has on women and takes the opportunity to live a dissolute life, jumping from conquest to conquest; he is much talked about because of his lovers, his fights and his memorable drinking. But... when he will come back from the Kingdom of Shadows after having found the Great Secret of Immortality, he will become, at once, a true living legend.
The great priestess of the Media. An android, half human, half robot. She presents the «EXILUM News» every day. Only the top half is mobile and visible. Her face is no more than a big pair of thick red lips that announce events with a mechanical voice. She has two big eyeballs rotating 360° with huge eyelashes overlooking her pair of lips. We can guess that DARZAL is alive, because she reacts to provocations. She is always bossy with the technicians who handle her but always subservient to the leaders.
She was twelve when the ignoble SHAÏKAN chose her parents to be sacrificed during the killings which resulted from overcrowding.
Amongst the JUNKJACKS, when a child at this age finds himself alone, he's almost sentenced to death, as living conditions are too harsh. But SALERO had a passion for life. When ZAGOR, one of TOTALAMOK's lieutenants, falls in love with her, she knows her vengeance has come.
A dancer in the hovels, she spends her nights entertaining the weary and drunken JUNKJACKS. A rebel at heart, she will soon become one of the leading lights of the revolt.
He is the JUNKJACKS' main warder. Servile, deceitful and overbearing. His miserable little power gives him the possibility to harass and humiliate the men and women of his caste. He always hopes to benefit from his power, maybe even rise up in rank.
He is a thick brute with a frog's brain, only moved by his sexual appetite and his thirst for domination.
Hated, despised by his companions, he will be enlisted in the revolt, but will always be a subject of distrust to the rebels.
